Solve 3(x + 2) = 18
3x + 6 = 18Expand the bracket. The 3 multiplies everything inside it.
3x = 12Take 6 from both sides to get the x term alone.
x = 4Divide both sides by 3. Check it: 3 × (4 + 2) = 18.

I’m Mouiz. I teach one-to-one online, breaking hard topics into steps you can actually follow, so you understand the work instead of memorising answers.
About
I’m a current A-Level student with a strong background in STEM and English, and I’m starting Biomedical Engineering next year.
My teaching is clear, patient and tailored to each student. Whether you’re stuck on one specific topic or pushing for top grades, we start from where you actually are.
I’ve sat the exams you’re preparing for. I know the mark schemes, the common pitfalls and the techniques that actually work.

How I teach
This is how I work through a question in a lesson: one move at a time, with the reason for each one and the mistake to watch out for.
Solve 3(x + 2) = 18
3x + 6 = 18Expand the bracket. The 3 multiplies everything inside it.
3x = 12Take 6 from both sides to get the x term alone.
x = 4Divide both sides by 3. Check it: 3 × (4 + 2) = 18.
A 1200 kg car accelerates at 2.5 m/s². Find the resultant force.
F = m × aPick the equation that links what you know to what you want.
F = 1200 × 2.5Substitute, checking the mass is in kilograms first.
F = 3000 NFinish with the unit. It’s part of the answer.
Balance H₂ + O₂ → H₂O
H: 2 → 2 O: 2 → 1Count the atoms on each side. Oxygen doesn’t match yet.
H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂OPut a 2 in front of the water. Oxygen is fixed, but now there are 4 hydrogens on the right.
2H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂OPut a 2 in front of the hydrogen. That’s 4 H and 2 O on both sides.
